I have cancelled our outing to Rock Glen on April 30th as the stairs to the falls are in bad shape and will have to be repaired. The area has been closed to the public. Alexa has also cancelled her outing this week.
I will however keep an eye on that and update everyone as to the time when we can go, when it is safe to go.
In the mean time I will see if we can go on another outing for that day instead of that one
Sorry for any inconvenience to the people who have registered for it.

Event Date: Saturday, April 30, 2016 -
07:30 to 14:00
Organizer: Jale FanceyEvent Description:
For those who are not available to go to Rock Glen during the weekday, with Alexa, I will be also doing an outing there, on Saturday, April 30th.
It is best to have good and sturdy shoes and please dress for the weather.
bring your tripod and if you have a wide angle lens, however any other lenses you may want to bring is fine. Also as Alexa mentions, if you have a neutral density filter or a polarizer filter may come in handy. Make sure your batteries are charged and you have extra memory cards.
There will be instruction for those who want to know on the settings for taking waterfalls photos. (long exposure etc)
We will meet at the parking lot by McDonalds /Giant Tiger at 7:30 am and carpool. We can give a ride to 4 people and their equipment. If there are more than 6 of us Perhaps someone else can give a ride. The least amount of cars driving is best.
We should get to Rock Glen by 8:15 am.
The park office will probably be closed, but they will have an envelope for us to pay the entry fee of $3.75/person. There are a lot of other things in the area to take photos of, so we can meet back at the parking lot at 12:00 noon.
Those who are interested in having lunch together and socialize, before going home, I am planning on making a reservation at the Marcanda Tea room and gifts at Reeces Corners. Please let me know if you would be interested in this, so that I can let them know how many people will be coming.
Rain date will be May 7th...

Event Date: Thursday, April 21, 2016 - 08:45 to Friday, April 22, 2016 - 13:30Organizer: Alexa CouplandEvent Description: THE DATE WILL BE DETERMINED BY WEATHER. A NOTIFICATION WILL GO OUT ON APRIL 19TH
This will be a morning event to visit Rock Glen Conservation Area. We will be photographing the waterfalls and river bed. There will be an opportunity to learn different camera setting to get different effects of moving water.
You will need to bring a camera with a wide angle lens and a tripod. If you have a neutral density filter or an ultraviolet filter, you should bring them.
I highly recommend that you wear sturdy footwear as there are steep steps to the base of the waterfall. It is very rocky at the bottom of the waterfall and you must be extremely careful as it is slippery.
The park is closed but we will be able to park there and pay at the "Pay Box". The person I spoke to said she thought it was a $4 fee per person. She also said that there are privvies.
We will meet just north of highway 402 at Maundamin Road at 8:45am. We will be at Rock Glen by 9:30. I think that 2 hours will be sufficient time and we will return to our meeting place near Sarnia by 12:30.
