Full Day Pinery outing October 30th,2016
There will be an outing to Pinery Provincial Park on October 30th. We will leave early (6:00am) to catch a sunrise at the Pinery which will be at 8am. leaving early will give us time to get there and find a place to set up our equipment. Make sure you have had breakfast or bring bars or snacks to eat as we will not go for breakfast so that we can get some nice light in the morning.
One of the places is the Old Ausable Channel near Riverside area 3. or we could go to the beach also to photograph the sunrise. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
After sunrise, we can go on the Bittersweet Trail (1.5km), where we can search for mammal signs along the Old Ausable Channel.Since most mammals are nocturnal, the best time to take this walk is in the early morning or late evening.
After that, we can go on the Riverside Trail (1km). We can shoot until lunch time.(noon or 1pm, depending on how hungry we are)
We can go out to MacPherson's for lunch ( https://www.macphersonsrestaurant.ca/) please see menu below:
After lunch, we can go back to do one more trail, maybe feed the chikadees and then to the beach. near sunset time(6:21pm).Hopefully we will get a nice sunset.
If it is a cold day we may cut the day short, we will take a vote.. :)
If you are interested in this outing, please register. Again, if you can give a ride, or need a ride please let me know so we can carpool..It will be cheaper to get into the park if we fill up the cars.
WINTER WHEAT IN SPARTA Saturday October 22nd, 2016
It has been a while since we have gone to Winter wheat in Sparta, so we will have an outing to go there on October 22nd. We will meet at the Giant Tiger Plaza Parking lot on London Road, across from TD Canada Trust at 7:00 am. We will carpool from there and drive to Sparta with a stop at Port Stanley to have some breakfast at That Breakfast Place. I have had breakfast here before and it is pretty good and reasonable.
Across from the restaurant there is a nice scenic harbour, with boats and a park there, so when we are done we can spend a half hour there taking photos.
Then we will drive to Winter Wheat in Sparta, which will be about 10 minutes from the restaurant.
Winter Wheat's Hours are 10-5pm every day and so we should be there by 10 am. We can spend 2 hours or so there and then drive to Pinecroft Tea house for lunch and then spend another 1.5 hours photographing the nature around pinecroft here.
If you are interested in this fun outing, please register on the Website. If you need a ride, or if you would like to give a ride, please let me know by emailing on the website or to me directly at email@example.com
